Jeanette pasin Sloan (1946-) is a painter and printmaker whose work is a mixture of realism and abstraction elegantly executed to reflect her strong sense of color and design. Excerpt from "Jeanette Pasin Sloan" by Gerrit Henry, Hudson Hills Press, 2000.
"As evident in her art, Jeanette Pasin Sloan loves order and beauty and disparages the grunginess that characterizes so much contemporary work. Nonetheless, she emphatically defines her own paintings and prints as modern. And rightly so, her art could only have been made toward the end of the twentieth century. The subjects she depicts, from elegant Revere Ware bowls to everyday soda cans are thoroughly modern in their design."
The catalog raisonne of the artists paintings as well as for her prints are available.
